iPad Cover

Here is the iPad cover I came up with! I forgot to take pics along the way...oops! I just measured around the iPad and cut out 4 pieces - front & back from outer fabric and lining fabric. I used an old fleece blanket for the lining as it's nice and soft and adds a little cushion.

I was to lazy to break out my button-holer, so opted for Velcro. The button was just added for looks ; )

Easter Ties For My L'il Guys

Here are the Easter ties I made for my boys. I always said I would never dress my kids in matching clothes (after growing up with matching taffeta dresses for me & my sisters!)...but it is TOO cute and I gave in! I love seeing them in matching outfits and Kingston loves when his little brother is dressed like him too. Oh and did you notice the cut above Kingston's eye?? He had a nasty fall this week but luckily no stitches, just tape!

I have a thing for aqua and red...I just love that vibrant combo! I painted the red bunnies on using a stencil and acrylic paint. I do like using fabric paint, but I didn't have red and acrylic is permanent on fabric too.

For the tie I used This tutorial and pattern with a couple alterations. I used elastic on the neck band instead of Velcro since I ran out if fabric. Next time I will go with the Velcro...these are hard to squeeze over my boys' massive heads!

Easter

Romans 6:8-11
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Hope you are all enjoying the long weekend with your family! Happy Easter!

Easter Table Decor

I finally got around to starting the Easter decorations and love how they turned out! We have a ton of plastic eggs around here so I put them to good use.

I found this cute yellow bucket and wanted to use it as a centerpiece for the table. I was having trouble getting the paper silhouettes to stand up without floral foam...and then plastic eggs came to my rescue. A little dab of hot glue (oh how I love you hot glue!) and they were standing.

I think they look pretty cute just like this too!

I also created some clothespin eggs which I used for the table cloth. I love the scalloped look it created!

Now onto the Easter outfits... I have a lot of sewing to do!

Mini Paperbag Skirt

It has been a rough couple weeks around here...teething you win again!! Poor Damien is cutting four teeth, including 2 "I" teeth! That means no sleep for me and no energy for anything. Thanks to my hubby this weekend I was able to get a little rest and some sewing done!

I made this skirt and headbands for a sweet little girl who turned one this weekend. I love my boys...but man, sewing for girls is SO much more fun!!

The skirt is a mini version of the Easy Paperbag Waist Skirt . I added a little flower for extra cuteness!

I can't wait for these teeth to come in so I can get some sleep and get back to sewing!!

Easy Ottoman Slipcover

Our poor ottoman has taken a beating over the years from a rambunctious beagle and a toddler. It was time for a facelift!

I found this gorgeous table cloth on clearance for $7.00! The best part about using a table cloth for a slipcover......NO Hemming Required!! I measured the ottoman and cut out my pieces..making sure to utilize the hemmed edge of the table cloth.

The sides are sewn together first. I tried it on the ottoman to make sure it fit.

The top was sewn on next and the seams pressed. A quick and easy project! Now I need some new pillows ; )

Easter Crafting With My Li'l Chicks

The boys & I did a fun Easter craft today! I found the idea Here I cut out all the pieces, Kingston glued them on and the boys added their handprints!

What's the best way to clean up little hands after painting?? Why by playing with water of course!!

This was the first time I included Damien in our crafts...usually we craft while he naps. He had so much fun! I see lots of messy crafts in his future ; )

Spring Cleaning

"Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task." - William James

I have a major problem with starting projects and not finishing them. I have baskets of unfinished projects! In the spirit of Spring Cleaning I want to tackle my piles and FINISH what I started. I am hoping that if I post some of them here I will be more motivated to get them done! So here are a few of the projects I need to finish...

Clutch Ball(pattern found Here) I am embarrassed to admit that this was supposed to be a Christmas gift for my youngest. He is now almost 10 months....so it might end up being a birthday gift!

Kimono PJs from Amy Butler's Little Stitches For Little Ones

Pillows and Quilt for our bed

Apron for my 3 year oldHe picked out the monster truck fabric and requested an apron since he had outgrown his toddler one! It ended up being a little big so I have to take it in a bit.

Only in Canada...

Only in Canada...

Will you sit outside in a T-shirt in 2 feet of snow and celebrate the arrival of Spring!

Will you see people wearing shorts the minute the temperature rises above 0 degrees!

Here in Alberta we have had a LONG, COLD, GREY winter and we are excited to finally see some signs of Spring! Yesterday I enjoyed an afternoon outside knitting while Kingston played in the snow...bring on the sun!
